Privacy Policy

The short version. HomeSlice is a local-first app. Your home, tasks, items, documents, and contractors live on your device and sync between your own devices via iCloud. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or track you across other apps and websites.

1. Information we collect

HomeSlice collects only the minimum needed to run the service:

Account identifier. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we store a hashed identifier that lets us recognize you on return visits and across your devices. We do not store your email address in plaintext.
Purchase records. If you tip the developer or buy the Founder Edition, our payments partner (RevenueCat) records the purchase against an anonymous user ID so we can verify entitlements. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card number.
Push notification token. If you enable notifications, we store the device push token Apple gives us so we can deliver task reminders.
AI question content (transient). Questions you submit to the Ask HomeSlice helper are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) along with your climate zone and dwelling type so the answer is tailored. We do not store the question or answer on our servers. The provider's retention policy applies to the request in flight.
ZIP code (transient). When you search for local pros, your ZIP code is sent to Google Places to fetch nearby contractors. The lookup is cached for 24 hours by ZIP+category in our database to reduce API calls; it is not linked to your user account.

2. What stays on your device only

The following data never leaves your device except through your own iCloud account, which is end-to-end encrypted by Apple:

Your homes, items, documents, warranties, and service records
Photos you attach to items or service records
Your task completion history and personal notes
Contractor contact info you save manually

3. Tracking

HomeSlice does not use third-party tracking SDKs. We do not link your activity to data from other apps or websites for advertising. We do not share data with data brokers. Apple's App Tracking Transparency does not apply because we do not track.

4. Third-party services we use

Apple Sign in with Apple — for authentication only
Google Sign-In — for authentication only
RevenueCat — payment verification and entitlement state
Anthropic — AI helper responses (transient, not stored by us)
Google Places — local pro search (ZIP only, cached)
Apple iCloud / CloudKit — your private device-to-device sync

5. Your rights

You can sign out of HomeSlice at any time, which removes your local data from the device. To delete your account on our servers (the hashed account identifier and any purchase records), email hello@pondero.ai with the subject "delete my account." We will action the request within 30 days.

6. Children

HomeSlice is rated 4+ but is not designed for or directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we will update the date at the top and notify users on their next launch via an in-app message.
